If you could have 1 more 2 CD floyd live release...

Post by MoreOrLess »

What would be want on it? It can be anything from complete concerts to just random tracks. Myself id be very torn between either a live 77 release or a compilation of ealier live stuff something like...

CD 1

Interstellar overdrive from 70
Cymbaline from 69/70 with the footsteps edited out
Green is the colour/Careful with the axe eugene from 71
Fat old sun from 70/71
Corrision part of the violent sequence jam from early 70
Embyro from 71 with the different non echoes like middle jam

CD2

One of these days from 72
Obscured by clouds/When your in from 72
Breath/On the run jam version from 72
Set the controls for the heart of the sun from 73
Shine on parts 1-9 from 74

Any '77 show with complete Animals and DSOTM plus Echoes, SOYCD and a few oldies (Embryo, Interstellar Overdrive, Cymbaline, Green is the colour, AHM or FOS).

if a new two cd live floyd album would come out, i would want it to be from the "Invisible light tour" of 2005.
the cd would consist of.....

Echoes part 1
Dogs
is there anybody out there
Fat Old Sun
Hey You
Brain Damage
Eclipse

CD2
In the Flesh
Shine on...
Have a Cigar
Not Now John
Wish you were Here
Echoes part 2
On the Turning Away feat. Roger Waters first performance of it live :p
Comfortably Numb
Run Like Hell

I'd say I'd like to have a double cd of a live show of theirs, P.U.L.S.E. style, but one of their old days Animals shows, or perhaps a Dark Side Of The Moon live performance before the albums were made. The real original works of 2 of our favorite albums.

First of all, I'm making the assumption that the 70-71 BBC stuff will eventually be released. Also, I'm not keen on re-releasing stuff that is already kicking about on Ummagumma or Pompeii.

Disk 1: Concertgebouw :D

Disk 2:
Breathe / On the Run '72 (The original version of OTR comes off so much better live this is a must IMHO)
OBC/WHI/Childhood's End (I like what I've heard of these songs from a 72 concert, but the sound quality was hardly up to the standards of an official release)
Interstellar Overdrive (while I haven't heard a Syd-less version I have found outstanding, I think it is worthy of representation nonetheless)
Raving and Drooling / Gotta Be Crazy / Shine On (The '74 versions as originally conceived)
