Wet Dream- Steve Wilson Mix July 28th 2023

A Steve Wilson remastering of Rick Wright's 1978 Wet Dream released July 28th (Rick Wright's 80th Heavenly Birthday) on CD and streaming sites.
Of course they've changed the colours to this man swimming in the middle of a sea in red trunks.
Looking forward to hearing an improved sounding album. No idea if it's same tracklist (Should be?).

Great news.

I like the new cover but there was nothing wrong with the previous one. It will be nice to have it on streaming so more fans can listen.

My remix of Richard Wright’s ‘Wet Dream’ will be released on CD and streaming platforms on what would have been Richard’s 80th birthday, 28th July. Deep blue transparent marbled vinyl and blu-ray formats follow on 29th September. The blu-ray additionally includes 5.1 and Dolby Atmos mixes as well as never-before-seen personal archive videos. The new mix additionally includes 2 extra passages of music that were edited out of the original mix.

Most people know that Pink Floyd have always been my favourite band, so it was a real honour to be commissioned by Richard’s children Gala and Jamie Wright to remix this relatively underrated and beautiful entry in the Floyd canon. For anyone hearing the album for the first time it will become apparent just how much of Richard’s DNA runs through Pink Floyd. His distinctive rhythm patterns, signature keyboard sounds, vocals, jazz influences, and style of play exude throughout.

All formats feature images and brand-new artwork commissioned and art-directed by Gala and Jamie and designed by Carl Glover. The original Hipgnosis artwork features in the vinyl booklet.

I like that it has a couple of extra songs on there. Fantastic. I wonder what the video material will be of? And unseen photos.

Cat Cruise from Wet Dream remix 2023 is on Spotify...

Finally. I've been waiting for this for so long. Seems like Cat Cruise is extended by 40 seconds or so compared to original album.
I kind of would've liked a box set.
1. The new mix
2. The original
3. Demoes and RW outtakes from the 70's, but that would've included PF-stuff I guess.

Anyway. Broken China next, lads!

And what about that album RW was said to be working on right before death took him away?

Really pleased to hear this. I think that 'Wet Dream' is one of the top PF solo albums, even if it lacks the variety of classic period PF albums. I don't usually buy re-releases but will do for this one. I think the original cover is better, but this is a minor issue.

Just an article about Rick. Doesn't quite go in-depth but not a bad read.

It's a nice article, but it (accurately) reinforces just how much bad blood there was and is among 'Pink Floyd'.

I can't see the bonus tracks in the track listing. Could someone please explain about the extra tracks discussed above?

It seems to have done ok in the charts in the UK.

https://www.officialcharts.com/artist/richard-wright/

Number 10 in the physicals chart
Number 34 in the downloads chart

Seems the young down-loaders were not as interested as the oldies getting their physical copies of the CD. Vinyl comes later of course.

The drums on Waves sound really different. I can't decide if they're better than on the original mix.
