hahaha there are deadheads who like floyd... and I reckon some of the members of the dead were or are floyd fans hahaha or at least kinda liked emmalusienka wrote:yes, that's an idea! Somebody wants to ask dead fans about their favourite songs? Anybody?Duckboy wrote:i wonder how much different it would be if you counted every fan living and dead
I didn't take part in this survey, but Echoes is (are?) also my favourite song!
And few people voted that they are 1/10 fans... I wonder how it's possible that they answered all the questions, about favourit member etc.

I am sorry. There is something in the fine print I must have missed. Money is not only one of the Floyds' greatest pieces it is one of Rock and Roll's all time great numbers! And it is not even on the list?

Re: Floyd Survey - Pt4 - Favourite Songs and Fan Rating
I was disappointed that Fat Old Sun and Cymbaline were ranked at 19 and 20, respectively. I definitley thought those two would be at least in the top 15, if not 10.
While I agree that WYWH is an amazing song with definitley their most recognizable melody, if you picked that as your fave song then you really aren't listening to the rest of their body of work with a keen ear. Definitley way too overplayed. Classic rock radio staple/filler.
I really thought CWTAE would achieve a higher position, too. High Hopes should not be in the top ten as well. Switch that one with Atom Heart Mother.

Re: Floyd Survey - Pt4 - Favourite Songs and Fan Rating
Having a quick look:Keith Jordan wrote:I cant remember how many songs are on the Echoes best of... album, but I wonder how many of those songs on that are in the top 20 of our nice list? Mmmm.
8 of the top 10 were on Echoes.
10 of the top 20
15 of the top 30
15 of the top 40.
So it appears that the basic favourites are pretty universal, but thereafter there is not really much consensus, which would suggest a pretty consistent back catalogue.
However, the NPF stats are not limited by making sure each album is not over- or under-represented or by track length restrictions, so strictly speaking, it is difficult to make a direct comparison.
