Yet you can see an influence on the animation of Empty Spaces when they start biting each other. Wouldn't say reused. But it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the drawings.space triangle wrote: Sat Nov 28, 2020 8:48 pm Gerald Scarfe's drawings were new to me, I didn't know anything about it. Frankly, a drawings looks quite disturbing. No wonder they never used it.

Even 'Welcome To The Machine' video, also a work by Gerard Scarfe, have a lot of 'disturbing' moments. Around 3.45 min..

Shocked that there is no discussion about the 2018 remix release!
I thought it was amazing!

I didn't like it. Rick's contributions got buried down the mix, especially on Dogs. I tried to listen at least thrice to this mix and got more and more annoyed about the decisions they took.Vegetable Layne wrote: Sat Nov 05, 2022 6:34 pm Shocked that there is no discussion about the 2018 remix release!

It made it sound like an attempt to underrate Rick even more. Of course that wasn't the true band's intention, it was annoying nonetheless.
It's always interesting to have a new vision of the album released, but in my case I stick to the original mix.
I was even more annoyed by a factor not related to the mix, though: the absence of live recordings from the time. Since it was a special edition, in that case including this new mix, it was another missed opportunity to open the vaults of some of those amazing tours.

Every release give or a take expect one or 2, PFM always creates missed opportunities of what they can include on their releases. The live Wembley 1974 DSOTM release. Just give us the whole frigging show yet its spread across 3 different releasesEclips wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:08 pmI didn't like it. I have listened to all (so far) PF's albums today. I'm going to finish with this one for today. I want to like this album but I just don't. I like pigs on the wing 1 & 2 and I enjoyed Pigs when I saw Roger do it live but this album just isn't for me.

Re: Pink Floyd - Animals
I believe I can understand those people who don't like this album. Animals is one of the most uncommercial albums ever made. Without any hit single, it basically consists of the three very long songs full of the animal sounds and a great music. What else would you want?

Re: Pink Floyd - Animals
Yep, a complete joke. Ricks long solo on Dogs would render a writing credit IMHO, as well as the rhodes intro on Sheep.Bigmanpigman wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2016 9:44 pmYep a truly great album and my equal favourite along with WYWH. But the one thing that has always grated with me is the writing credits. This was the period when Roger was getting far too much up his own arse. Rick and particularly Dave are all over that album, but the credits show it all as Roger apart from a joint credit for David on 'Dogs'. A complete joke.Fingals Cave wrote:Great album. I like that it was just the four of them, after a couple of albums of guest players and singers. And that it sounds completely different to anything they had done before. With the songs being a few years old and well road-tested, the band really cooks. Compare to how clunky and leaden the Wall tracks are with their fake live effects..
It's much heavier rock in places but there is still plenty of their trademark atmosphere. The "dragged down by the stone" bit really does sound underwater as if you're drowning in it. Rick's intro to Sheep is so cool. The instrumental between the second verse and the Psalm 23 is one of their best jams on record, and they really blaze away on the outro. Dave builds up a veritable guitar orchestra on Dogs and gets a wicked talkbox tone on Pigs.
Gonna have to listen to it now!
My revised writing credit would look like this:
Pigs on the wing (8-track version): Waters/White
Dogs: Gilmour/Waters/Wright
Pigs: Waters/Gilmour
Sheep: Waters/Wright/Gilmour
I'd say there's no difference than the writing credits for the different parts on Shine On where it shows how little Waters' input was on large parts of Shine On.
