I could go on and on about the Stones... they are so good.
Some of my favorite songs:
Dead Flowers
Sister Morphine
Heart of Stone
Wild Horses
Angie
Mothers Little Helper
As Tears Go By
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Waiting on a Friend
It's Only Rock N Roll But I Like It
and there are many others obviously.. Dead Flowers is incredible..
Dead Flowers, Wild Horses, perfect examples of the effect Gram Parsons had on the band.

I used to LOVE the Stones. All those old songs that everyone else has mentioned are classics. My fave era was from the 1966-68 period. I even liked Her Satanic Majesty's Request. A few of my favorite songs were Paint it Black and Under My Thumb. I've always thought that if I was in a band I'd want to cover the latter one but change the lyrics to reverse the gender. I had a minor crush on Mick Jagger (even dated a guy who looked like him...don't ask) when I was 16 and later on the late Brian Jones after that. I saw them in 1978 at Folsom Field in Boulder, CO, but I was not that big on Some Girls which was that tour. Even by then, IMHO, they were starting to show signs of hasbeen-ness. Now, they just give me a fright when I catch an image of them on tv, but they're good for a laugh. It's a shame, really. They should've stopped while they were ahead. They truly are the poster boys for aging rock star syndrome.
