Polly confirms new album for David Gilmour

Post by PinkFloydCollectors »

New David Gilmour album in 2023? A new interview with Polly Samson, found her responding this way to what she is doing at the moment!
“As for the future, I hope to be back with a new novel as soon as possible. Ah, at the moment I'm working with David Gilmour on new songs. Promising right?
Full interview in Romanian.

Sounds very promising 👌 I think they usually focus on one project at a time between them so very promising indeed.

Looking forward to it. It's been seven years since Rattle That Lock now...

Polly has been sharing pictures of the recording process on Instagram. Hopefully there will be something out soon.

I hadn't heard this news before. Great to hear. I think RtL is a good album, and it was a bit frustrating that DG said that he had tracks for another album, but that nothing came of it.

Once upon a time, I would've been excited to hear news like this. Now I just hope that the end result won't be too mediocre. On an Island was an utter borefest and Rattle that Lock was disappointing. I didn't care for that song he did with his daughter either. I don't like everything Roger does but at least there's still fire and brimstone in the old devil.

I always look forward to new David Gilmour material. I preferred On an Island to Rattle that Lock, but always find his music interesting none the less. I'm curious as to what direction his music will take and who (if any) collaborators will be involved.

Hi daughter Romany seems to be involved so perhaps it will sound something along the lines of Yes I Have Ghosts.

Oh, I'm excited about this. David and Romany's lockdown sessions were delightful, and Romany has a beautiful voice.

Rattle That Lock might not have aged very well in my mind, but On an Island is one of my favourite albums ever. Just pure atmosphere. If we get something like that again I'll personally be overjoyed.

New Polly pic on Instagram featuring Guy Pratt. Surely it's not just a regular dinner chez Gilmours...

Been a while since RTL. What an album that was, just brilliant.
Will we see some more of the same style? Maybe On An Island's atmosphere?
Or something completely unexpected, like About Face?
Maybe the question we should be asking ourselves is;
We know David can write some great music.
But can Polly write lyrics yet?

I can't wait for some official concert dates for David Gilmour tour 2024 and a new album hopefully. Something to really look forward too. As much as I like going to watch Roger for his theatre, I do love the musicianship of David. https://www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/davi ... album-news
