Polly just posted this image of David Gilmour in his recording studio, Medina in Hove Brighton in that house he renovated. David Gilmour is with drummer Steve DiStanislao and guitar tech Phil Taylor, no doubt getting some great tone out of that guitar. I hope there is announcement of a David Gilmour Tour and Album 2024 to look forward to.
I suspect Polly is sat at the piano in the corner taking the photo. She might be playing the piano too.
Picture of the studio...

Re: Polly confirms new album for David Gilmour
There was a pic of Gilmour holding a Les Paul last year, and that made me curious about what new surprises he has for his next songs. Looking forward for both solo albums by him and Roger, and also for more recordings from Nick's band.

I thought Dave said that it didn't matter if he sold his guitars, because any guitar he had he could easily get a replica of. Not saying that's a replica - if it isn't then perhaps the new owner loaned it back to him.
The original black strat had a rosewood fingerboard, I think. And the one in the photo above has what looks to be a maple fretboard.
EDIT: It seems that Dave had multiple necks for the black strat. Some with maple fingerboards, some with rosewood.

There's a Fender signature model.

Re: Polly confirms new album for David Gilmour
I see Polly has posted a picture of David Gilmour and Roger Eno, brother of ambient man Brian Eno.
What is the significance? How are these two connected?
David Gilmour, best known as the guitarist and vocalist of the rock band Pink Floyd, and Roger Eno, a composer and musician, are connected through their work in the music industry, particularly within the genre of ambient and experimental music.
While Gilmour is renowned for his work with Pink Floyd, he has also pursued a successful solo career and collaborated with a variety of artists. Roger Eno, the younger brother of Brian Eno, a pioneer in ambient music, has made significant contributions to the ambient and classical music scenes.
Their connection is primarily through the broader network of musicians who have worked in the ambient and experimental genres. Both have collaborated with numerous artists and have likely crossed paths or influenced each other indirectly through their contributions to the music industry. However, there's no direct, widely-known collaboration or project that specifically links David Gilmour and Roger Eno.
Perhaps until now? Must be working on his new album, with a more ambient feel on at least one song perhaps?

Roger Eno has played keys for David Gilmour before. He can be heard on "A Boat Lies Waiting" and "Beauty" on Rattle That Lock.Keith Jordan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 11:21 am What is the significance? How are these two connected?

Roger Eno collaborates very well, in my opinion. E.g. I really like the Channel Light Vessel albums.theaussiefloydian wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 12:55 pmRoger Eno has played keys for David Gilmour before. That looks like Mark Knopfler's studio, British Grove. It seems like Mark's right hand man Guy Fletcher could have been producing the album, this is from Guy's website forum.

I like this solo career, specially his last 2 albums
