Nick Mason’s Ferrari at Cadwell Park

Nick Mason’s Ferrari at Cadwell Park

Links – Grimsby Telegraph Story on Event | 4min Video on event | NPF Newsletter THE sound of thunder boomed around Cadwell Park racetrack when Ferrari fan and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason got into top gear. His Ferrari 512 – worth a cool £1.5-million – tore round the track at up to 150mph, powered by its 600bhp engine. It was a welcome return to Cadwell for motor sport racer Nick, who flew to Lincolnshire in his custom-painted Squirrel helicopter from London. His treasured Ferrari was used in the Steve McQueen movie Le Mans in a crash scene, and also driven by legendary racing drivers Mario Andretti, Ronnie Peterson and Arturo Merzario. Its wreckage was lovingly restored thanks to Nick (65). The car – which has 12 cylinders and is capable of 200mph – was driven around Cadwell by motoring journalist and racing driver Mark Hales to take part in...

Links – Discuss on Forum – Observer Newspaper Story – Get NPF Newsletter for all Latest Pink Floyd News |   From the Observer: Sunday 19th April 2009 Pink Floyd, the band behind Dark Side of the Moon, one of the best-selling albums in music history, have filed a lawsuit against EMI, claiming the private equity-backed firm has miscalculated royalty payments. The unprecedented legal claim is a glimpse at the fraught relationship between EMI, under the ownership of Guy Hands’s Terra Firma, and some of the label’s leading acts. The new owner’s arrival in 2007 was blamed for the departure of acts such as Radiohead and Paul McCartney. Terra Firma acquired stock market-listed EMI for just over £4bn, saddling it with £2.5bn of debt in the process. Hands, who became chairman, quickly moved to cut costs. Industry insiders suggest the legal action is likely to have flared up amid routine...

Echoes Lyrics – Pink Floyd – Meddle

Home / Pink Floyd Lyrics / Meddle Lyrics / Echoes Lyrics Echoes (Waters, Wright, Mason, Gilmour) 23:27 Overhead the albatrossHangs motionless upon the airAnd deep beneath the rolling wavesIn labyrinths of coral cavesAn echo of a distant timeComes willowing across the sandAnd everything is green and submarine. And no one called us to the landAnd no one knows the where’s or why’s.Something stirs and something triesStarts to climb toward the light. Strangers passing in the streetBy chance two separate glances meetAnd I am you and what I see is me.And do I take you by the handAnd lead you through the landAnd help me understandThe best I can. And no one called us to the landAnd no one crosses there alive. No one speaks and no one triesNo one flies around the sun…. Almost everyday you fallUpon my waking eyes,Inviting and inciting meTo rise. And through the window in the wallCome streaming in on sunlight wingsA...

Seamus Lyrics – Pink Floyd – Meddle

Home / Pink Floyd Lyrics / Meddle Lyrics / Seamus Lyrics Seamus (Waters, Wright, Mason, Gilmour) 2:15 I was in the kitchen,Seamus, that’s the dog, was outside.Well, I was in the kitchen,Seamus, my old hound, was outside.Well, the sun sinks slowlyBut my old hound just sat right down and cried. 01. One Of These Days02. Pillow Of Winds03. Fearless04. San Tropez05. Seamus06. Echoes About The Song “Seamus” is one of the more unusual tracks in Pink Floyd’s discography, taken from their 1971 album “Meddle.” Named after a dog that actually “performed” on the track, this bluesy number is a departure from the band’s typical progressive and psychedelic sound. “Seamus,” the penultimate track on Pink Floyd’s album “Meddle,” is a distinctive foray into blues, complete with harmonica, laid-back guitar, and the howling of a dog named Seamus. This light-hearted and somewhat impromptu piece is a stark contrast to the band’s usually intricate and conceptual work. David Gilmour leads the song with...

San Tropez Lyrics – Pink Floyd – Meddle

Home / Pink Floyd Lyrics / Meddle Lyrics / San Tropez Lyrics San Tropez (Waters) 3:43 As I reach for a peachSlide a rind down behindThe sofa in San Tropez.Breakin’ a stickwith a brick on the sand.Ridin’ a waveIn the wake of an old sedan. Sleepin’ alone in theDrone of the darkness,Scratched by the sand thatFell from my love,Deep in my dreams and IStill hear her callin’“If you’re alone,I’ll come home.” Backward and homebound,The pigeon, the dove,Gone with the windAnd the rain, on an airplane.Owning a homeWith no silver spoon,I’m drinking champagneLike a good tycoon. Sooner than wait forA break in the weather,I’ll gather my far-flungThoughts together.Speeding awayOn the wind to a new day.And if you’re aloneI’ll come home. And I pause for a whileBy a country styleAnd listen to the things they say.Diggin’ for goldWith a hoe in my hand.Open a bookTake a look at the way things stand. And you’re leading me...
