Pink Floyd recording engineer Andy Jackson has been talking to BBC 6 Music’s Sinead Garvan about the upcoming re-release of Pink Floyd’s back catalogue “Why Pink Floyd“.

He reveals some interesting information about the project including the inclusion of an “Easter Egg” amongst the material which he seemed most pleased about!

For those who do not know, an Easter Egg is a hidden bonus track that is usually included on a DVD by doing strange things in menus or leaving a DVD for 5 mins when it appears to have finished only for “hidden” material to appear!

Astoria Studios

In the picture to the right, Andy is in David Gilmour’s Astoria recording studio which, of course, is in a converted Riverboat moored on the Thames! You can see some pictures of that boat/studio being refurbished amongst other things in the photo gallery. The Division Bell amongst others were recorded in the floating studio!
