Excitement Builds for David Gilmour’s New Album

In the April 2015 edition of Uncut magazine, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera reveals that David Gilmour’s new studio album “sounds fantastic”. On the recording of the album, which could be released in 2015, Phil said that “it’s going very well. I think it sounds fantastic, people will be very happy.” Phil Manzanera has worked with David Gilmour often over the years and has played guitar on David’s solo tours. Phil helped produce David Gilmour’s last studio album from 2006 On An Island and also toured the world with David and the rest of the amazing band. Pink Floyd session bass player Guy Pratt is sharing his comedy with the world in July and August of this year in his show “Wake Up Call“. He has been rather successful with his comedy shows and is not just a bassplayer, you know! He is playing the Latitude Festival this Friday for three days, Port Elliot Festival then off up to Scotland for 11 days so, if you get tickets for that show, you had best take a sleeping bag! lol I really should not try being funny because it just doesn’t work! 2006 has been a busy year for our favorite Floydians. David Gilmour and Roger Waters both launched a tour this year, collaborating with other members of Pink Floyd and some old friends. Nick Mason and Rick Wright were very involved this year. Nick played a few shows with Roger, and Rick played keyboards throughout David’s tour. Jon Carin was quite busy, playing as a full time member of both David and Roger’s band. I (Andrew Beale) unfortunately could not have made it to one of Gilmour’s concerts, so I got some help from azza200 to write this article who saw David twice on his tour. David Gilmour Dates: David played Continental Europe, North America, and the UK on his tour. He only played 36 dates in total, a select few dates compared to Rogers numerous.
