Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Tour 2022 Audience Sign

The Importance of Roger Waters’ Message and The Sign

Roger Waters’ This Is Not A Drill Tour is currently underway, delighting concert goers in North America. Roger’s tours are always a great success and push the boundaries of what a concert can look and feels like. He is also highly political which is not to many people’s taste who are more interested in “the music” rather than “the politics”. Roger Waters’ shows are important. Not only are the shows spectacular from a production point of view (with the fans immersed in the performance all around them, with award winning projections and stage production), fans also get to hear Roger’s political views. Roger Waters’ 2022 Tour was billed as a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to LOVE, PROTECT and SHARE our precious and precarious planet home. Given this sense of purpose, Roger has become quite offended by...

Ian Ritchie Leaves Roger Waters’ Touring Band

Saxophonist Ian Ritchie has left Roger Waters’ touring band by mutual consent and will therefore not be performing on the forthcoming This Is Not A Drill Tour. Ian has suffered from some physical ill health over the years which has flared up in rehearsals and therefore cannot go on the road with the band. Hope he is feeling better soon. Ian wrote on his blog… Thursday, 23rd June 2022 : London : Hello all. This will be my last post on this TINAD tour blog. The reason is as follows. I have had a physical problem for some years that has made controlling the saxophone more challenging than on the Dark Side tour. I was able to keep it in check during Us+Them. Unfortunately, the problem flared up during rehearsals this time and I was unable to perform to my, or Roger’s satisfaction. Consequently, we mutually agreed that I should...

Roger Waters Tour Rescheduled to 2022 – His First Farewell Tour!

Roger Waters’ This Is Not A Drill tour has been rescheduled back to 2022 due to the ongoing Covid pandemic and the closing of venues. Roger cheekily said on Facebook that this could well be his first farewell tour. He isn’t getting any younger and it really must take it out of you performing as he does all over the world like that! The original tour was due to coincide with the US elections which have now passed! No more Trump to have a go at. Perhaps he will be targeting the ruling classes instead more generally. He had previously said this was to be the most political tour yet. Update from Roger This Is Not A Drill scheduled for 2020 was postponed due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. We are thrilled to announce these dates for the summer of 2022 while keeping in mind the safety of all parties....
