The site went live on 18th December 2008 and features a biography, discography, photo gallery, web store and a news section. Of particular interest is the gallery which contains never-before-seen photos of Syd Barrett’s original artwork! Definitely worth checking out! Syd Barrett wrote most of Pink Floyd’s debut album Piper at the Gates of Dawn and died on 7th July 2006 from complications caused by diabetes. His sister Rosemary Breen has been maintaining his estate ever since. Syd was the first “front man” of the band and led them in their first phase as a band. Links – Discuss on Forum – View Auction Lot A signed version of Pink Floyd’s entire back catalogue box set “Oh By The Way” has been donated to the charity Youth Music Theatre UK (YMT) by Pink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason. The box set, signed by Nick, has a reserve of £300. This item is being auctioned to raise money for Youth Music Theatre UK (YMT), a registered charity which provides residential music theatre courses for young people aged 11-21. Links – Discuss NPF playlist on NPF Forum – Absolute Radio Voting Page and Fixtures/Results List – NPF Newsletter I am exceptionally pleased to be able to announce that the NPF Forum’s Pink Floyd playlist won in the Quarter Final competition against a Red Hot Chili Peppers forum! It was a very tense and close competition but we won in the end with 52% of the vote. Very close indeed! But we won! What Next? The next Rock-Off for the NPF Forum’s play list will be from 9:15pm on 17th December which is tomorrow evening! We are up against a “James” forum! If we all pull together and vote, we should win that too! Get the NPF Newsletter to get a reminder to vote on that competition! The other semi final is between Green Day and Coldplay which is currently rocking-off! Who ever wins that one, will play who ever wins...
