Headline Act: Pink Floyd

Headline Act: Pink Floyd

Monday, February 10 & Friday, February 147/6c pm & 4/3c pm VH1 Classic (North America) premieres “Headline Act” with Pink Floyd on Monday, February 10. The hour-long block includes classic Pink Floyd videos and a brand new interview with David Gilmour. During the hour, Gilmour sets the record straight on the meaning of “Another Brick In The Wall Part 2”- “I think regaling the world with the words, “We don’t need no education,” unless it’s for the ones who understand a double negative, is probably not the greatest message to put across. Within the context of the film and the album, one would understand that (it) is actually a plea for better education.” Videos played during the Pink Floyd “Headline Act” hour include “Another Brick In The Wall,” “Arnold Lane,” “On The Turning Away,” “Welcome to the Machine,” and “Wish You Were Here.” Source: VH1.com Newsletter

Interstellar Pink Floyd Paris Exhibition Review

Interstellar Pink Floyd Paris Exhibition Review

Coming out of the metro (Station Porte de Pantin, Line 5) I stand directly in front of the Cité de la Musique. One cannot miss the display announcing the PINK FLOYD INTERSTELLAR EXHIBITION and the multiple posters at the side of the portal. I walk into the direction of the entrance and discover at my left hand the huge flatable Pig (Animals Tour 1977) on top of the exit of the amphitheatre. On the ground in front of that exit, three blue pyramids are placed from The Dark Side Of The Moon. At the entrance door is “Fat Man” located also from the Animals Tour. A small sign at the wall explains for those who are not that familiar with Pink Floyd how the displayed items are named and when or where they were used. Too bad it’s all written in French language and not as well explained in English (a minor point noted). Immediately when...

No Gilmour Tour for 2003

No Gilmour Tour for 2003

According to Brain Damage, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd Guitarist) will not be doing a mini tour as suggested late last year. Brain Damage said “We have it on VERY good authority that David Gilmour’s 2003 tour has sadly been shelved. He is not expecting to do any shows this year (apart from the odd guest appearance) so it’ll be 2004 at the earliest.“. David Gilmour released a DVD of his fresh interpretation of some Pink Floyd classics, other artists songs and a new song. You can buy the DVD cheaply for £11.99 which includes free delivery to anywhere in the world here. It will certainly keep you going until 2004 when Gilmour is expected to announce some dates.
