David Gilmour Italy Tour Dates Announced

David Gilmour Italy Tour 2024 has been announced. In a similar fashion to the London shows, David will be playing a string of 6 concerts in one venue.

David will be performing at the huge outdoor chariot venue Circo Massimo (Circus Maximus in English) in Rome, Italy. He will be performing on 27, 28, 29 September 2024 followed by 1, 2, 3 October 2024.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 17th May with presales for fans who purchased the album from David Gilmour’s Italian web store. General ticket sales link to follow.

The concerts in London and Italy will be the only European tour dates and there will be not further concerts announced for this region.

Ticket Sales Issues from London

The presales for the London shows at the Royal Albert Hall was not without issues. Many fans complained at the cost of the presales tickets because they were the best seats and therefore the most expensive. I paid £250 per ticket including the usual raft of additional charges from Ticketmaster. Some pointed out that other shows are more expensive and that “cheaper” seats were available after the pre-sales had taken place. Either way, still very expensive.

Also, the Ticketmaster website is not great in terms of making people queue to be allocated a short time frame to buy tickets. The system sounds good on paper but people made it to the front of the queue only to be met with error messages and tickets disappearing after being allocated. The little timer clock would spin round and nothing happened. Make sure you are logged in before attempting to get in the queue, don’t leave that to the last minute. Also, perhaps get in a queue for something popular today to make sure your computer is working correctly and lets you get to the checkout. This might avoid some stress for you.

I wanted to watch David Gilmour live on the Saturday night but ended up on Thursday. No biggie, I will just have extra time in London checking out the real ale scene. No problem at all.
