Roger Waters : Amused to Death : Analogue Productions : 2022 4LP Release

Roger Waters: Amused To Death, Analogue Productions Edition

The much celebrated Roger Waters solo album, Amused To Death, is to be released in a new 45RPM 4LP 200g set with remastered audio from James Guthrie. It costs £190 so will probably not feature in most people’s collections. This is according to Rough Trade records in the UK. The American distributor Acoustic Sounds has it as a 180g pressing. Rough Trade appears to have to finished artwork on their site, so presumably their information is the most up to date. Discuss on the forum. In addition to this release, people are of course waiting for the Animals 5.1 mix to be released with the edited liner notes which were causing a delay. My well placed source said the rumoured release date of 30th September 2022 is something they are not aware of. Pink Floyd Recording New Song 2022

Pink Floyd Release a New Song for Ukraine

Pink Floyd are releasing a new single in support of the people of Ukraine entitled Hey Hey Rise Up. The single will be available on all streaming and download platforms from midnight tonight. This is the first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s The Division Bell. The track sees David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined by long-time Pink Floyd bass player Guy Pratt and Nitin Sawhney on keyboards and features an extraordinary vocal performance by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox. The track, recorded last Wednesday (30th March), uses Andriy’s vocals taken from his Instagram post of him singing in Kyiv’s Sofiyskaya Square. The song itself, The Red Viburnum In The Meadow, is a rousing Ukrainian protest song written during the first world war which has been taken up across the world over the past month in protest of the invasion of Ukraine....

Pink Floyd’s Saucerful of Secrets Mono LP Release for April 2022

Pink Floyd will release the remastered Mono LP of their second album Saucerful of Secrets on April 29th 2022. This follows the recent release of Piper at the Gates of Dawn mono LP, which was released earlier this month. The original mono mix of Pink Floyd’s A Saucerful Of Secrets, remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante & Bernie Grundman from the 1968 analogue tapes, is released on heavyweight 180g vinyl (following its limited Record Store Day 2019 outing). It’s the Floyd’s only album to feature all five band members after Syd Barrett was replaced by David Gilmour. Pre-Order from Amazon now I wonder what other LPs are in the works? In an age of all these digital downloads, it is nice to just switch off the mobile devices and just sit and listen to a nice vinyl. What a great event.

Now you can get hold of it as a regular release in glorious mono on LP (catalogue PFRLP38). The album was remastered back in 2017 from the original mono analogue tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman and presented in mono form as originally intended. It was recorded at the now legendary Abbey Road Studios and is considered one of the quintessential psychedelic records of its era. It was originally released in August 1967.
