Sky Arts Pink Floyd Night featuring Syd Barrett Biopic

There are 5 great programs to watch on Sky Arts this coming Saturday 27th April in what looks like a real treat for Pink Floyd fans. There is a Pink Floyd takeover as they are broadcasting lots of content starting at 6.30pm. This Sky Arts Pink Floyd Night is going to be a great evening. As part of the package, Sky Arts will broadcast the autobiographical film Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd. Hopefully we are a step closer to streaming and physical release. Brian Wernham is a well known collector of Syd Barrett’s original art. Brian has an impending house move and he need to make some space. He has decided to sell one of his two largest and most impressive original Syd pieces.  These pieces can be seen on the official Syd Barrett website in positions 1 and 3 in the three oldest known existing works by Syd. The estate of the late Pink Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett has released another official lyrics video. This time round, it is the fantastic song Gigolo Aunt. You can watch the video online via the Official Syd Barrett YouTube channel. Douglas Arthur Peter Field was born on the 6th of August 1945. 18 months older than Syd Barrett, Duggie was an upcoming artist in London who blended the imagery of cartoons, fashion and advertising with Dalí and Mondrian. Home / Band Members / Family: Rosemary Breen Rosemary Breen is the sister of the late Roger Keith ‘Syd’ Barrett, founding member of Pink Floyd. Rosemary was the youngest sibling of 5 and grew up in Cambridge, England. The other members of the family were eldest brother Alan Barrett, second eldest Don Barrett, sister Ruth Barrett, brother Roger Keith Syd Barrett. The parents were very highly regarded father and pathologist Dr Arthur Barrett and mother Winifred Barrett (née Heeps). Dr Arthur Barrett sadly died in 1961when Syd and Rosemary were still in their teens. Winifred would pass away much later on 30th September 1991. In terms of chosen career, Rosemary Breen would go on to become a nurse working in London at St Georges Hospital, and would later look after her brother in later life once he came back to Cambridge. The Fingal’s Cave Podcast recently granted us a rare and intimate glimpse into the life of the enigmatic Syd Barrett through a personal interview with his sister, Rosemary Breen. The hour-long session delved into a multitude of topics, unravelling some of the mystery that has long shrouded her brother. Its a great interview about Syd Barrett and his story and not to be missed.
