What is Dolby Atmos?

Dolby Atmos, known for its advanced sound technology, elevates the auditory experience by creating a three-dimensional soundscape. This technology allows the listener to be enveloped in music that moves around and above them, offering an unprecedented level of immersion into Pink Floyd’s complex soundscapes.

Moreover, this special edition of “Animals 2018 Remix – Dolby Atmos” comes with new artwork presented in a digipack format. Fans will also appreciate the included 16-page booklet, a sticker, and a postcard, adding collectible value to this release.

What is Animals about?

Originally launched in January 1977, “Animals” is Pink Floyd’s tenth studio album and a standout concept album. Influenced by George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” it offers a scathing critique of the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, categorizing different societal classes as animals. Pigs represent the ruling class, sheep symbolize the mindless masses, and dogs depict business leaders driven by greed and power. This allegorical narrative continues to resonate with audiences, highlighting Pink Floyd’s knack for combining profound thematic content with groundbreaking music.

Recorded at the band’s own Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976 and early 1977, “Animals” was self-produced by Pink Floyd, showcasing their artistic autonomy. The album achieved significant commercial success, peaking at number 2 in the UK and number 3 in the US charts.

The previous release of the “Animals 2018 Remix” in September 2022 was met with enthusiasm from fans and critics alike. Available in various formats including CD, LP (featuring gatefold artwork), SACD, and a Deluxe Gatefold edition, the latter offers an expansive package with LP, CD, audio Blu-ray, audio DVD, and a comprehensive 32-page book, making it a must-have for collectors and audiophiles.

This upcoming release in Dolby Atmos is not just a remaster, but a reinvention that promises to bring new life to “Animals,” allowing both longtime fans and new listeners to experience Pink Floyd’s visionary music in a novel and immersive way.
