Roger Waters Under the Rubble – New Album Demos

Roger Waters just posted a video of him recording a new song in Logic Pro, recording software, on his computer. The composition is called Under The Rubble and features the lyrics below. He recorded it at 11:53am on Thursday 28th December and shared it today, the day after. “Papa, I want to go home now, papa please take me home, mama please tell me I’m dreaming, and ill wake up somewhere and I won’t be alone, mama its dark here, dad has stopped breathing, mama mama”. There appears to be another version of his demo on his computer desktop. That one is saved as “Its Dark here mama”. There is also a keffiyeh scarf draped over the computer – a symbol of Palestinian Nationalism. You can watch his video online. Roger Waters New Album 2024? David Gilmour 2024 New Album Recording A Wrap?

Lyricist Polly Samson, who is working on her husband David Gilmour’s new studio album, just posted some additional photos from in the studio. There seems to have been a flurry of activity recently. More frequently than at any other point in the year. This is speculation of course, but perhaps this flurry of activity is the musicians getting the project over the line and complete in terms of recording. Perhaps it will now go off for mastering ready for release next year. Fingers crossed. Here is an excellent set of photos, including a group shot, of what could be a wrap on the recording process. Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets 2024 Tour Announced

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets 2024 Tour has been announced with dates in Italy this coming July shared so far. The 6 new dates are at Milan (July 18th), Vicenza (19th), Bologna (20th), Rome (22nd), Caserta (23rd) and Roccella Ionica (24th) with tickets going on sale tomorrow at 10am UK time. They finished their 2023 tour in October having played several dates in Australia. David Gilmour New Album 2024 Work in Progress

David Gilmour New Album 2024 continues to be worked on well up to Christmas! Lyricist Polly Samson has shared some more excellent photos of David Gilmour at work in the recording studio working on his forthcoming 2024 new album. Looking at all the photos that have been posted, there is a David Gilmour band coming together with some old and new faces alike. We know about Guy Pratt on bass and Roger Eno on Piano, both worked on Gilmour’s previous album. But now we have a couple of new faces. New to me anyway. Adam Betts is on drums. He has played with the likes of Jarvis Cocker from Pulp and Pete Tong. Tom Herbert is on bass. He plays the double bass and electric bass. Jim Ladd Passes Away, Roger Waters Reflects

Jim Ladd, the American disc jockey, radio producer and writer, has passed away from a heart attack on 16th December 2023. Jim Ladd and Roger Waters were involved primarily through their collaboration on Roger Waters’ album “Radio K.A.O.S.,” released in 1987. In this concept album, Jim Ladd’s voice is featured, providing spoken segments and playing a character within the album’s narrative. This inclusion of a real-life radio personality added a layer of authenticity and depth to the album’s exploration of communication and media themes. Beyond “Radio K.A.O.S.,” their professional relationship was marked by mutual respect and shared artistic sensibilities.
