Pink Floyd Top of the Charts and New Music Video

Great news. The mighty Pink Floyd is top of the UK physical charts this week new in at number one. This is not the download charts but the physical charts where people actually get a proper copy. The single is Hey Hey Rise Up which is a collaboration with Andriy Khlyvnyuk in support of Ukraine given the situation there. The physical release also features a reworked version of Pink Floyd’s A Great Day for Freedom which you can watch below. There has been all kinds of arguing and bickering on the internet about the credits on the reworked song with Jon Carin apparently not knowing the keyboard parts have been re-recorded. Pink Floyd Release a New Song for Ukraine

Pink Floyd are releasing a new single in support of the people of Ukraine entitled Hey Hey Rise Up. The single will be available on all streaming and download platforms from midnight tonight. This is the first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s The Division Bell. The track sees David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined by long-time Pink Floyd bass player Guy Pratt and Nitin Sawhney on keyboards and features an extraordinary vocal performance by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox. The track, recorded last Wednesday (30th March), uses Andriy’s vocals taken from his Instagram post of him singing in Kyiv’s Sofiyskaya Square. The song itself, The Red Viburnum In The Meadow, is a rousing Ukrainian protest song written during the first world war which has been taken up across the world over the past month in protest of the invasion of Ukraine....

Nick Mason New Tour Dates Announced for Saucerful of Secrets Tour

A couple of new dates have just been announced for Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets Tour which is headed back out on the road following delays due to Covid. The two new dates, announced on Nick’s Official Facebook page, are in Thessaloniki and Athens on 3rd and 4th June 2022 in Greece. Tickets are on sale now here and here. Sadly, the North American tour dates are still postponed until later in the year due to uncertainty over Covid. The new dates are being rescheduled and will be announced in due course. Unseen Pink Floyd Syd Barrett Photos 20+ professional photos of Pink Floyd’s performance at Gyllene Cirkeln in Sweden 1967, by photographer Kenneth Ekberg, have been discovered and will be shared for the first time on 26th February 2022. Details of the exhibition, which includes a performance Men On The Border and guests, will be shared in due course. Please come and discuss on the forum. One of the guests is Janne Schaffer, of ABBA fame, who will bring the amplifier that he used that very might in 1967 as a support act to Pink Floyd and lent to Syd Barrett for the evening. A live recording of this particular concert was officially released in Pink Floyd The Early Years mammoth box set, later releases as separates, and is widely available on the bootleg/ROIO scene.
