Resources & Links New Tracker Download Section | Torrent Tutorial | Ask Questions I am pleased to announce that Neptune Pink Floyd now has a new site area where you can download (and upload) as many RoIO/Bootlegs as you like! It is called the NPF Community Tracker (NPF-CT) and uses a popular technology called Torrent Files. Torrent files allow people to share files between each other across the internet using a central server called a tracker. There is a full and comprehensive tutorial about downloading torrents as well as creating them on this page here. You can register here. Resources & Links Read interview | Chat about it David Gilmour has confirmed in an interview that his latest album On An Island will be released in surround sound 5.1 after mixing has been completed after the summer holidays! In the interview, with Sound and Vision Magazine, David was asked “Had you given any thought to recording the new album in surround sound?”.To which David replied: “We did, actually. My initial intention was to release it in 5.1 at the same time as the CD, but we won’t get around to finishing the mix until the tour and the summer holiday are over. We recorded all of the drums and orchestral stuff in surround. While I do like to keep the rhythm section more or less in stereo, I tend to bring some of the more fluid things — voices, keyboard textures — around from the front to the sides...
The BBC are making a major series on Rock Music and one of the bands they are featuring are, of course, Pink Floyd! They are looking for footage after Dark Side of the Moon between 1973 and 1977 when their stage shows became much bigger. They are interested in Pink Floyd’s screens, lights, inflatables etc. They can get film of the Syd era, Pompeii and bits from the Brighton Dome 1972 but nothing really until The Wall Shows. If you have any decent quality video footage that you think they could use then please get in touch with Tony Higgins at the BBC. Details below. The video doesn’t have to bea full performance, doesn’t necessarily need audio either as dub track can be used… just useable clips of a decent quality. Resources & Links Sam Brown bio | Sam Brown Fanclub | David Gilmour 2006 Tour Rooms | 7 new Capital Gold Radio Interviews The delightful Sam Brown joined David Gilmour on stage tonight at the L’Olympia in Paris to sing vocals on Great Gig In The Sky. She was in town with Jools Holland and his band and was asked by David to join them. They rehearsed the song at the sound checks and she performed with David and the band later that day! Very professional! Sam Brown sang backing vocals on The Division Bell and subsequent 1994 tour! Set list Spoiler!
