Nick’s Touring Band
Nick’s touring band rolls into Stockholm on 2nd September and will be playing early days Pink Floyd material. The band already played 4 shows earlier this year in London at Dingwalls and The Half Moon venues.
The band features Guy Pratt on bass and vocals, Gary Kemp from Spandau Ballet on guitar and vocals, Lee Harris on guitar and vocals and Dom Beken on keyboards.
The set list included the likes of Interstellar Overdrive, Astronomy Domine, The Nile Song and Point Me at the Sky.
In an interview with Uncut magazine, Nick Mason said the group were “not a tribute band”, but wanted to “capture the spirit” of the era, and stressed that Kemp was not a direct replacement for original Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett

David Gilmour is set to release his rather excellent live performance in Pompeii from July 2016 on a range of formats including Blu-ray, DVD and audio on CDs and LPs.
The wonderful sounding release will be available in stores on 29th September 2017. There will also be screenings in cinemas on 13th September much to the delight of many fans I am sure. You can pre-order from the links below.
“In 2015 David Gilmour set out to play a series of concerts in historic venues across the world. The following year he became the first performer to play the amphitheatre in Pompeii in front of a live audience since the gladiators in 79AD. It was a return to Pompeii for David, having first performed there in 1971 for Adrian Maben’s legendary concert film, Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii. In Roman times the Pompeii amphitheatre was known as a “Spectaculum” and David worked with long time collaborator and maestro of colour and light Marc Brickman to bring the spectacle back to the Spectaculum”
45 years after Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour filmed ‘Live At Pompeii’ in the legendary Roman Amphitheatre there, he returned for two spectacular shows, part of his year-long tour in support of his No.1 album ‘Rattle That Lock’.
The performances were the first-ever rock concerts for an audience in the stone Roman amphitheatre, and, for two nights only, the 2,600 strong crowd stood exactly where gladiators would have fought in the first century AD.
‘David Gilmour Live At Pompeii’ is an audio experience on its own, while the audio-visual spectacle features lasers, pyrotechnics and a huge circular screen on which specially-created films complement selected songs. Paramount, however, is the incredible music: the show includes songs from throughout David’s career, as well as many Pink Floyd classics, including ‘One Of These Days’, the only song that was also performed at the band’s 1971 show.
Both concerts also saw very special performances of ‘The Great Gig In The Sky’ from ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ which David rarely plays as a solo artist. DVD and Blu-ray versions contain an extra 7-minute documentary by Gavin Elder ‘Pompeii Then And Now’
‘David Gilmour Live At Pompeii’ shows an artist at the top of his artistic game, performing incredible material with his world-class band, in a unique setting on one very special occasion.
