Polly Samson and David Gilmour

David Gilmour and Polly Samson Rolling Stone Interview (New album, Tour, Roger Argument)

David Gilmour, and his long time collaborator and lyricist Polly Samson, have done an interview with Rolling Stone magazine which you can read online. The interview focuses on Polly’s work on her novel A Theatre for Dreamers, but also covers lots of other ground including the dispute surrounding Animals 2018 remix which “David’s former lyricist” Roger Waters had things to say about. David Gilmour vs Roger Waters Lets get this element of the story out the way first, then we can focus on happier thoughts. Given all the suffering going on in the world, its a bit daft to be bickering like this. Put “credit” and “ego” to one side and focus on the future! It says in the Rolling Stone interview that it was done in “late May” and then published on 7th June. As we know, Roger went berserk on 1st June regarding the liner notes issue for...

Pink Floyd Syd Barrett Story

Watch Rare Video Interviews with Pink Floyd – Part of The Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story

The director John Edginton has been in touch to kindly share the interview videos he did, largely unedited, with members of Pink Floyd. John used the interviews in the documentary he directed called The Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story which was done back in 2001 for the BBC, but later released on DVD in 2003. I think it was also on VH1 earlier than 2003. The videos presented here are longer than those featured as bonus material on the DVD. Syd Barrett himself watched the documentary. According to his sister Rosemary, Syd watched the documentary when it was broadcast on the BBC. He apparently found it “a bit noisy”, although he did enjoy seeing Mike Leonard, who he referred to as his “teacher”. He also enjoyed hearing “See Emily Play” again. [Guardian] Anyway, here are the videos. Watch them and come discuss them on the forum with us. Also,...

Roger Waters Tour Rescheduled to 2022 – His First Farewell Tour!

Roger Waters’ This Is Not A Drill tour has been rescheduled back to 2022 due to the ongoing Covid pandemic and the closing of venues. Roger cheekily said on Facebook that this could well be his first farewell tour. He isn’t getting any younger and it really must take it out of you performing as he does all over the world like that! The original tour was due to coincide with the US elections which have now passed! No more Trump to have a go at. Perhaps he will be targeting the ruling classes instead more generally. He had previously said this was to be the most political tour yet. Update from Roger This Is Not A Drill scheduled for 2020 was postponed due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. We are thrilled to announce these dates for the summer of 2022 while keeping in mind the safety of all parties....

John Prine and Friends : Newport Festival

Roger Waters on Live at Newport 2017 New Vinyl Release [2021 release]

You may recall that Roger Waters performed at the Newport Folk festival back in 2017 and wasn’t his first appearance either. There is to be a vinyl released featuring Roger Waters amongst other artists and is available for pre-order tomorrow (23rd March 2021) and I expect it will sell out pretty quick. Discuss on the forum. Roger also played at the 2015 Newport Festival and you can view loads of photos of that performance. Watch Roger’s performance at the festival in 2017 “Hello In There” from John Prine’s 1971 debut album. (with Lucius on backing vocals) Press Release Recorded during the 2017 Newport Folk Festival, John Prine and Friends is the first-ever release of this celebrated and unique performance. Joining John on stage during this once-in-a-lifetime set were some of our very dear friends including (in order of appearance) Justin Vernon, Jim James, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, Lucius, and Roger Waters. Offered...

Roger Waters Autobiography and Audio book in the Works

Roger Waters has been working on his autobiography for many years, and an awful lot of other projects too that have not yet come to fruition, but he said the other day that he is in the middle of his autobiography and that there will be an audiobook complete with “the voices”. You know Roger likes to do his voices as can be heard on The Wall for example. The interview was a political one with PARC Media (Politics, Art, Roots, Culture). That means a lot of fans might be put off as they are only interested in the musical side of the band. If you want to watch the interview, do so here (1h 10min for audiobook info). I wonder what kind of stories he would choose to include in this memoirs? He, and The Pink Floyd, achieved so much over the decades 6 decades with lots of ups,...

Roger Waters The Gunners Dream 2021 Video

Watch These Roger Waters Videos, They Look and Sound Amazing

Roger Waters has kept busy over the Covid period, and has invested time and effort into entertaining his fans around the world, bringing people together with the music. He has also been a keen political activist and, people who follow that kind of thing, will no doubt be aware of the positions he adopts on various topics. That said, Roger has re-recorded some of this fantastic material and made it available for people to enjoy online, which I suggest we do right now, with the videos below, from Roger, his band and team. Thanks guys! The Gunner’s Dream Mother Vera/Bring The Boys Back Home Dogs [From Us + Them DVD] And to finish on, here is a short preview of Dogs, from the Us + Them tour, which was absolutely stunning to watch live at Liverpool Echo Arena (and other places around the world of course). I managed not to...
