That is the question on many fans minds and is also on the mind of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason also! In an interview with BBC 6 Music, Nick said, “No one has said we will never work (together) again.” However, that does not mean we should expect a full Pink Floyd tour anytime soon: “I think it is very unlikely we are going to go out on tour however I live in hope we would absolutely do another Live 8 or play together for the right reasons,” Nick told 6 Music. Roger Waters Albums Remastered on Vinyl

Roger Waters Albums Remastered on Vinyl

Links – download the magazine Doug Sax with his big Vinyl cutting lathe The founder of The Mastering Lab Doug Sax is to remaster Roger Waters albums on to vinyl so that you may hear the albums in their purest glorious form. Doug was interviewed by The Absolute Sound/Hi-Fi+ Guide to Vinyl Playback where he was asked about how vinyl technology had changed. Doug responded, “As far as the LP is concerned, no. As far as what might feed the LP, yes, because now you might be feeding it from digital files, from high-resolution 192 or 96/24-bit, which supplies a very reliable and consistent source. But surprisingly the only real improvement has ostensibly been going to DMM [Direct Metal Mastering] cutting and that’s had flaws in the past—it never won audiophile support. Now, they’ve apparently fixed the flaws, and they have better copper. But for rock ’n’ roll, for high-energy...

Roger Waters has written article for British newspaper the Guardian in which he calls for Israel to tear down their wall that blocks the Palastinian people in to a “virtual prison”. Roger wants other artists to involve themselves in a “cultural boycott” to help highlight what Irsael is doing to the palastinians. Roger wrote, “My conviction is born in the idea that all people deserve basic human rights. This is not an attack on the people of Israel. This is, however, a plea to my colleagues in the music industry, and also to artists in other disciplines, to join this cultural boycott.” “Artists were right to refuse to play in South Africa’s Sun City resort until...

A Review of Barrett: The New Definitive Visual History of Syd Barrett’s Creative Output

A Review of Barrett: The New Definitive Visual History of Syd Barrett’s Creative Output

Barrett Book: Signature Edition Modern pop stars often arrive on the music scene like a bad smell – they appear out of nowhere, may linger for a short while and then are gone. Although they may have an acute affect on those around them, it is only brief and soon forgotten about. Syd Barrett was not a bad smell. He was a whimsical kid from Cambridge who had a child-like fascination with the world, who pushed the boundaries of modern music with his “Pink Floyd sound” and created a lasting legacy: not just through his music with the Pink Floyd and solo material, but through his artwork, poems, letters, artefacts and vibe! The fascinating new book ‘Barrett’ offers the reader unrivalled access to the life’s work of Syd Barrett which goes way beyond what has been available up to now. The book is like a window into the creative history...
