Pink Floyd Tribute Band Concerts

With Pink Floyd very much finished as a live touring band, fans only have Pink Floyd tribute band concerts to seek out and experience. Some fans will have been born after the band had stopped touring so not seen them. Others may have seen Pink Floyd live and in the flesh. Lucky them. You blogger here has seen Roger Waters, Nick Mason and David Gilmour solo concerts many times, but never actually see Pink Floyd live. Who is the best tribute band for Pink Floyd? There are a lot of tribute bands to Pink Floyd all over the world. There should be at least one in every major city or region because everyone should watch! I have seen a few live over the years. They are a lot of fun. My favourite Pink Floyd tribute band has probably been the Australian Pink Floyd. I saw them last at Jodrell Bank...

Roger Waters Track by Track Video from London Palladium

Roger Waters London Palladium Video – Watch Now

Roger Waters and his 14 strong army of musicians performed Dark Side of the Moon Redux at The London Palladium. It divided opinion in the media and online from fans in the two shows Sunday and Monday. The show was split in two. The first half saw Roger talking at the audience at length about Julian Assange and Donald his pet duck. Crazy stuff. He also talked about his forthcoming memoirs. Title is “I’ll See You On The Dark Side Of The Moon: Memoirs Of A Lanky Prick”. The second half was the Dark Side performance that fans had paid big money to watch. Some VIP packages allowed fans to obtain lots of goodies like posters. Tickets cost eye watering amounts on the primary ticket website. Anyway, part of the evening, this 20 minute video, was played for the audience. The video explains some of the new work that Roger...

Roger Waters Time Redux Version on Streaming Platforms Now

You can now listen to Roger Waters’ Redux version of Time from his forthcoming The Dark Side of the Moon Redux on streaming platforms like Spotify, YouTube below and others. It joins Money which was released recently. Having listened to both tracks I actually quite like the re-interpretation of the classic recordings. Personally, I think the Pink Floyd versions are much better to “listen to”, but these two new tracks I have heard so far give much more space to the lyrics rather than the music. Very sparse indeed. Pre-order from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com Roger will be performing the reimagined album at the London Palladium for two nights only in London on 8/9 October 2023. Tickets for those shows were very limited indeed and sold very quickly. Who knows if he will perform the shows in other locations, he does have the rest of his current tour to finish so is quite busy....

Roger Waters Re-Records Dark Side of the Moon

Roger Waters has revealed that he has re-recorded Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon album, and hopes to release it in May 2023, as a lavish vinyl accompanied by a concert! He has re-recorded it from scratch, without the involvement or even knowledge of any of his old band mates. Roger also recently released his new recording of Comfortably Numb, with the guitar solos removed, and replaced by vocals. It was released on his Lockdown Sessions release. He’s still polishing the final details but it should be released as a “lavish vinyl” and promoted with a concert. Given that Roger left Pink Floyd in the 1980s and doesn’t own the Pink Floyd name, it will very likely be released under his own name. Given The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the best selling albums of all time and regarded very highly by fans, it does beg...

Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Tour 2022 Audience Sign

The Importance of Roger Waters’ Message and The Sign

Roger Waters’ This Is Not A Drill Tour is currently underway, delighting concert goers in North America. Roger’s tours are always a great success and push the boundaries of what a concert can look and feels like. He is also highly political which is not to many people’s taste who are more interested in “the music” rather than “the politics”. Roger Waters’ shows are important. Not only are the shows spectacular from a production point of view (with the fans immersed in the performance all around them, with award winning projections and stage production), fans also get to hear Roger’s political views. Roger Waters’ 2022 Tour was billed as a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to LOVE, PROTECT and SHARE our precious and precarious planet home. Given this sense of purpose, Roger has become quite offended by...

Pink Floyd News Roundup – New Releases, Ukraine, Tours, Retirement, Gilmour Video Released

There is plenty news going on at the moment so here is a quick news roundup of all the things that are happening in once neat place! Ukraine Response We tend not to focus on politics here at NPF because we are generally about the music which is often used by many of us to escape the reality of the day! Normally, Roger Waters is getting involved in something and posting things on the internet, which is not always to everyone’s liking. Russia invaded Ukraine with support from Belarus, and digital music has been withdrawn by Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, David Gilmour and Roger Waters chose to engage with the topic in other ways here, here and here. Given there is war, Nick had to cancel his two Russian tour dates and announced a new one in Lithuania instead. Share your thoughts about the topic on the forum. New Releases...
