Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets 2024 Tour Announced

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets 2024 Tour has been announced with dates in Italy this coming July shared so far. The 6 new dates are at Milan (July 18th), Vicenza (19th), Bologna (20th), Rome (22nd), Caserta (23rd) and Roccella Ionica (24th) with tickets going on sale tomorrow at 10am UK time. They finished their 2023 tour in October having played several dates in Australia. Dom Beken Biography

Dom Beken is the keyboard player from Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets band long with Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Nick Mason and co founder Lee Harris. Dom has played in several bands including Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, The Orb, High Frequency Bandwidth, Transit Kings, Belka and Strelka and Just Jack. Dom Beken is also a composer and producer and has worked with several game creators, including Ubisoft and Q Games, to create their soundtracks. Upon completing his studies at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, he embarked on an engineering career at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios (once owned by Phil Collins). In no time, he expanded his skills to include programming, arranging, and assisting fellow composers and artists in studios throughout London. His portfolio boasts numerous documentary scores, such as Channel 4’s critically acclaimed Proud and Prejudiced, collaborations with niche Japanese game developers Q Games (Shooter 1 & 2...

Lee Harris, a British musician born on 22 October 1972 in Hammersmith, London, England, gained widespread popularity as the guitarist for Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets. Lee Harris is one of the founding members of Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets touring band. Lee Harris Influences Harris grew up listening to classic rock bands like The Who, Rolling Stones, Santana, Allman Brothers, Deep Purple, Joe Walsh, Joe Cocker, ZZ Top, and Pink Floyd, which inspired him to learn the guitar at the age of 13. In his early twenties, Harris played in various London-based bands until he became a touring member and co-manager for Ian Dury and The Blockheads. Lee Harris has a family connection to the wider “Pink Floyd family” in that his father, film maker Stuart Harris, worked with Hipgnosis co founder Storm Thorgerson. David Gilmour Recording New Song for Teenage Cancer Trust

David Gilmour has been recording a new song for UK charity Teenage Cancer Trust at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios in London. Guy Fletcher, Dire Straits keyboard player, recorded them at the London studio which features some rather excellent vintage equipment in addition the modern stuff. Guy said, ” I recorded David yesterday for the TCT project. It was great to see him and Polly. (And their dogs!)”. David Gilmour’s wife and lyricist also posted a couple of photos from the session on her Instagram page. David has been playing his black black strat (not 0001) on the recording which, hopefully, we will know more about soon. The wait is finally over – Pink Floyd’s eagerly anticipated release of Pink Floyd Animals 2018 remix is finally here! Although the deluxe version is out next month on the 7th October, all the other formats are available now including glorious vinyl. Many people will be left wondering how such a fantastically produced album could be remixed to sound better than the original, and many fans may well disagree if its possible to sound better. There is plenty news going on at the moment so here is a quick news roundup of all the things that are happening in once neat place! Ukraine Response We tend not to focus on politics here at NPF because we are generally about the music which is often used by many of us to escape the reality of the day! Normally, Roger Waters is getting involved in something and posting things on the internet, which is not always to everyone’s liking.
